Music Theatre Guild Awards 2009

Home » Music Theatre Guild Awards 2009

The Music Theatre Guild of Victoria runs the Guild Awards for Excellence, an annual awards programme on behalf of the music theatre community.
Inaugurated in 1987, they reward excellence in a number of categories, and are designed to acknowledge the talent and expertise in the diverse productions of Guild member companies. They are not intended as a competition – to receive a nomination is an achievement in itself.
The nominees and award winners are selected by a panel of seven judges.  Each judge also presents an individual award, usually for an achievement that has captured his/her notice but has not been nominated for a major award.
The annual Awards Night is held in December. As well as the presentation of the Awards, it features excerpts from selected shows in a celebration of Victorian non-professional musical theatre.

FAMDA’s ‘Into the Woods‘ has been nominated by the Music Theatre Guild judges for a Technical Achievement award.

FAMDA will also receive a special judge’s award to be announced at the presentation night.

John Laurie has earned a MTGV commendation for his direction of  ‘Into the Woods‘.

MTGV awards presentation night Saturday 5 December 2009 at Frankston Arts Centre.
Hosted by PLOS.  Directors Brad Fischer and Nathan Firman.  Musical director: Bev Woodford.
