Want to display your theatrical talents in really showy roles?
Here is your chance!FAMDA is preparing to stage a delightfully quirky revue style musical called ‘I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change’.

The show is a brilliantly funny, fast-paced series of songs and vignettes about modern love and relationships, moving from the perils and pitfalls of the first date, to marriage, newborns, family road-trips, and looking for love in the twilight years of life.

Written by Joe DiPietro with music by Jimmy Robert, it is the second-longest running Off Broadway musical, running continuously for over 5000 performances between 1996 and 2008.  It has since been staged in many parts of the world and is now coming to Foster.

FAMDA will stage ‘I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change
13 – 28 April 2018
Directed by Tania Pell with musical direction by Laura Gibb.

Auditions Saturday 14 October
Foster War Memorial Arts Centre

At least four singer / actors are required to play the 56 characters contained in the show’s clever script. It requires talented singer / actors to play multiple roles including soppy parents, quarrelling lovers, egotistical one-night stands and senior romantics.
The show was originally cast with four cast members (2 men; 2 women) between the aged 25-35 who created the show’s different characters.
The actors need to be versatile and have strong comic timing.
All must be capable of singing both strong solos and close harmonies.
It is not a dance intensive show; there is only a couple of choreographed numbers/sequences.
The main challenge for actors will be to create a variety of comedic characters.

All auditionees should prepare 16 bars of a song that shows off their vocal range. Actors should be prepared to read from the script.
Roles are available for performers aged 18 and up.

WOMAN 1: Female – can play 20s to early 30s.  Soprano
WOMAN 2: Female – can play late 20s to early 40s.  Alto
MAN 1: Male – can play 20s to late 30s. Baritone-Tenor
MAN 2: Male – can play late 20s to early 40s. Baritone

We may increase the cast to six (even up to 4 men and 4 women) which would allow us to expand the character age range accordingly.
