There is much work involved in getting a show from the conception stage to Opening Night. Theatre companies always need lots of people to bring a stage production to life.
Naturally we need musicians, singers, dancers, actors, comedians, magicians and entertainers of all descriptions to strut their stuff on stage.
We also need people with talents and interests like these:
Behind the Scenes
- Scenery construction – carpentry, steel work, welding, painting
- Costume construction – pattern making, sewing
- Props – construction, sourcing
- Stage crew
- Audio design and/or operation
- Lighting design and/or operation
- Make up
- Hairdressing and wigs
- Costume design
- Costume making, decorating or finishing off
- Costume sourcing.
Front of House
- Ushering
- Ticket sales
- Customer service
- Food and beverage service
- Wait staff.
Administration
- Publicity
- Marketing – strategic marketing of a production and the company
- General business and office administration skills.
